Morgans Dairy

Morgans Dairy is local dairy who deliver across London and Surrey and required a website that displayed their services and allowed customers to check if they were within the delivery catchment area and to place orders for delivery.

The user could check to see if their postcode was within the catchment area and also see which days the company delivered to that particular postcode. The user could also build out a list of their desired products and email this of to Morgans Dairy via the 'Order' page. 

Overall, the client could not be happier with the final result. Since launch they have seen a boost in website traffic, orders made, and an improved internal administrative process for their company.

A few of the interesting technical challenges on this project
Delivery catchment area
Morgans Dairy required a delivery area check that allowed customers to enter their postcode to see if they were within the catchment area for delivery. Based on the input, the user would either be notified to visit the product page or to contact Morgans to arrange an alternative. 

Depending what postcode the user entered also affected the delivery dates they could chose. For example, some postcodes could only have deliveries on Monday and Wednesday's.

To achieve this I used PHP to save the postcode data from the database into a Javascript object which I could then loop through and test using regex if it was a valid postcode.

Order delivery
The client required a page which allowed users to view the product catalogue and create a list of products they would like delivered on a given day. 

Once the user had selected their products and entered their details, they could email this on to Morgans Dairy. This was an improvement of their previous system whereby they took via an archaic delivery software that was no longer fit for their needs. The result is a slick delivery system that streamlines the process for the user and company.
